Golden Sunflower Field Welcomes Summer

This June, NCKU enters the summer season with royal poinciana blossoms coloring the campus treetops red. At the Main Library plaza, a vibrant sunflower field forms a golden sea, attracting graduates and visitors to capture moments of campus life. The scene has become a seasonal landmark, reflecting the university’s commitment to a sustainable campus environment.

The library flower field has become a signature seasonal landscape during graduations and anniversaries. Managed through crop rotation by the Office of General Affairs, the site alternates between seasons using green manure plants such as cosmos, sunn hemp, zinnia, and sunflowers. These plantings enhance soil fertility while maintaining visual appeal, supporting a long-term sustainable campus cycle.
