Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development
To enhance the university’s sustainability governance framework, the former “Office of Strategic Development Integration” will be restructured into the “Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development” effective August 1, 2025. As a first-tier administrative unit, the Office will integrate and promote university-level sustainability strategies and coordinate internal and external resources to realize the vision of sustainable governance.
Following the reorganization, the Office includes four divisions: the Division of Development Planning, the Division of Institutional Data and Analysis, the Division of Social Responsibility and Impact, and the Division of Project Integration. Together, they integrate university resources, enhance sustainability education, strengthen cross-unit collaboration, and support NCKU’s progress toward resilient and globally impactful sustainable development goals.
Office of Strategic Planning
The university’s Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development evolved from the former Office of Strategic Planning (OSP). Established in April 2022, the OSP supported university development planning, management, and the coordination of university-wide projects. With approval from the University Council later that year, the Office was formally implemented. It consisted of four divisions: Information Analysis, Development Planning, Identity and Communication, and Project Integration.
Development Vision
To respond to the increasing demand for sustainability and university governance, and to strengthen decision-making, planning, and cross-unit integration for sustainable campus development, this institution, in accordance with Article 8 of its Organizational Regulations, establishes the Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development (abbreviated as OSSD) by upgrading the former Office of Strategic Planning. The OSSD will oversee the promotion and performance management of all university-wide sustainability projects, ensuring the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. This regulation is therefore formulated.
