Harmonious Campus
The warmth of a university comes from every corner.
NCKU believes that a “Well-being” campus is the fertile ground for academic excellence and talent cultivation. The University is dedicated to creating a people-centered and caring environment where every member can thrive in well-being, fully realize their potential, and enjoy a fulfilling university life or excel in their careers. From comprehensive health and wellness services and an inclusive, diverse campus environment to intelligent and attentive learning and living support, NCKU integrates well-being into everyday life—making the campus not only a hall of knowledge but also a home for growth and belonging.

Well-being Initiative
Low-Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening Section (LDCT)
In 2023, NCKU launched the LDCT Lung Cancer Screening Project, with the first phase in 2024 targeting faculty and staff aged 50 and above (a total of 506 participants). This initiative reflects the University’s strong commitment to employee health, aiming to improve lung cancer prevention and treatment through early detection and intervention. It marks an important step toward creating a healthy workplace and safeguarding the lives of faculty and staff.
A Comprehensive Mental Health Support Network
NCKU has established a three-tier prevention system to provide comprehensive mental health services.
-
Primary Prevention: Annual activities, growth groups, workshops, micro-credit courses, and outreach programs to raise awareness of mental health among faculty and students.
-
Secondary Prevention: Evening counseling hours, bilingual counselors, and Muslim prayer rooms across campuses to ensure diverse and accessible support channels.
-
Tertiary Prevention: Students may apply for mental health leave and subsidies for medical expenses, ensuring timely professional assistance when needed. In addition, the University offers Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) to provide counseling services for faculty and staff.

Support Services for Incoming Students
The Office of the First-year Student provides one-stop services for new students, including AP pre-enrollment courses, online resources from the Library and Computer Center, housing, course registration, and scholarship applications, along with information on campus life and student clubs. Through timely online support, the office helps incoming students quickly adapt to their new learning environment and focus on building a fulfilling and vibrant university life.
