NCKU Bike Festival:45 Departments, One Diverse Learning Experience

The annual Bike Festival at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) marks its 19th edition this year, with 45 departments offering students across Taiwan a diverse platform to explore higher education. This year’s theme, “Bike Festival 19: Youth in Motion”, uses the bicycle as a symbol of action and progress, reflecting the younger generation’s drive to explore the future.
Centered on the Kuang-Fu Campus and nearby department buildings, this year’s festival combines the Department Expo, Admissions Guide, and University Blueprint with talks by students, professors, and industry professionals, helping high school students explore academic fields and future pathways. It also features creative, human-centered highlights such as the immersive theater production The Confused: When the World Stops Giving Answers and the static exhibition Tracing Light Through the Forest, both of which invite reflection and self-discovery.
Since its 17th edition, the Bike Festival has partnered with the Rural Education Foundation to expand access for students from underserved areas. This year, with the foundation's transportation support, 35 students from Qimei Senior High School attended the event and experienced university life firsthand.
The Bike Festival is a student-organized event built on nearly a year of interdisciplinary collaboration. More than an admissions event, it is also a platform for learning and public engagement, showing how NCKU students put education and sustainability into action.
