As the seasons quietly shift, the winter campus is once again bathed in gentle light. A signature sight of the season, the “NCKU Christmas Tree” continues to surprise and evoke heartfelt emotion, as it did with its debut last year. This year, it goes a step further—bridging campus and city to share warmth and happiness with Tainan.
This year, the NCKU Christmas Tree has been relocated to a spot that passersby can easily see at a glance, turning every walk-by into an unplanned yet heartwarming encounter. During the event period, a concert and a holiday fair are also scheduled, inviting friends from both on- and off-campus to step onto campus. With upbeat melodies and a lively atmosphere, everyone is welcome to enjoy a relaxing weekend together and get an early taste of the warmth and energy of the Christmas season.
Filled with blessings, the Christmas tree is a special holiday gift from overseas alumni to their alma mater. It will continue to shine and accompany everyone through the Lantern Festival in 2026, becoming a softly glowing winter landmark. “NCKU is not only NCKU of Tainan, but NCKU of all Taiwan,” said NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen, expressing his hope that as the year draws to a close, the tree will bring warmth and good wishes to students, faculty, and local residents alike. He warmly invites everyone to visit the campus, experience NCKU’s distinctive winter scenery and cultural ambiance, and appreciate the Christmas tree’s different charm by day and by night.
